This is my new beautiful little nephew. He is only 3 days old in these pictures and is as cute as a button. We are all thanking and praising the Lord for this little blessing.

My sister-in-love Memory did very well and was only in labor for an hour and a half. Both she and the baby are doing great and were home the following day after the birth. Isn't that amazing!

I got to see them both this Mother's Day weekend when I went home to visit my Parents. What a perfect Mother's Day gift, Mom couldn't have asked for a better present. This is the second grandchild for my Parents and they are absolutely elated as we all are.

Big Brother Benjamin (2) isn't quite sure what to do with this noisy little critter, but I am sure in time they are going to be best buddies.

All I know, is that it's wonderful to be an Aunty!!!

Thank you Lord!

American Idol - Shocker!!!

For all you fans of American Idol are you just as shocked as I am right now? Can you actually believe that Chris Daughtery got voted off on Wednesday's show? I am so so so surprised. I really felt Chris was the one to win the title. He has consistently been amazing on the program. He has an amazing vocal sound and stage presence. I am heartbroken. I guess the only consolation I have is that someone out there is going to pick up this wonderful talent and sign him to a record deal. This is not the last you have heard of Chris Daughtery!!!

Lessons Learned

As a singer and guitarist I am always looking for new songs to learn. Sometimes it's a particular tune that will catch my attention but mostly I find that it's the lyrics of a song that can reach deep within my soul and not just Christain music, but I have found some incredible secular music too. I've learned that we can't put God in a box and some songs regardless of the genre can be just what God ordered. Of course we all need to use wisdom, for as much as there are some really good secular music out there, there are also a lot of really awful stuff too.
The lyrics I have posted here are from Carrie Underwood's new CD. For those who don't recognize that name, she is last years American Idol winner (yay! don't you just love the plug? hehehe) The title of the CD is called "Some Hearts." It's mostly country music with some contemporary songs but the hit song on this CD is a country song called "Jesus, Take the Wheel" if you haven't already heard it on the radio..you have too..this song is incredibly powerful. (I cry every time I hear it.)

But for now I want to share the lyrics to another song on this CD called "Lessons Learned." It's amazing, these very words could have been taken from my daily faith journal.

LESSONS LEARNED - Diane Warren

There are somethings I regret,
words I wish had gone unsaid -
some starts, that had better endings.
There's some bad times I've been through,
damage I can not undo - somethings,
I wish I could do all over again.

It don't really matter - life gets that much harder,
it makes you that much stronger - Oh... some pages turned,
some bridges burned, but there were lessons learned.

Every tear that had to fall from my eyes,
and every day I wondered how I'd get through the night.
From every change life has thrown me.
I'm thankful for every break in my heart.
I'm grateful for every scar....some pages turned,
some bridges burned, but there were lessons learned.

There's mistakes that I have made,
some chances I just threw away,
some roads, I never should have taken.
Been some signs I didn't see,
hearts that I hurt needlessly -
some wounds I wish I could have one more chance to mend

But it don't make no difference - the past can't be re-written
You get the life your given, oh...some pages turned,
some bridges burned, but there were lessons learned

And every tear that had to fall from my eyes,
and every day I wondered how I'd make it through the night.
From every change [God] has shown me.
I'm thankful, for every break in my heart,
I'm thankful for every scar....

....and all the things that break you,
are all the things that make you.
You can't change the past...cause it's gone -
you just have to move on....to the lessons learned!

"Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance, and let endurance have it's perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." James 1:2-4

G R A C E

Our little friday night bible study group has been studying about God's transforming grace and I can only marvel at how amazing grace really is. .

G - God's
R - Riches
A - At
C - Christ's
E - Expense

We do not deserve it, we can not earn it and yet He freely gives us that which we so desparately need...it is a gift of perfect love.

Grace is God's free gift, shown to guilty sinners who deserve only judgment. It is the love of God shown to the unlovely. It is God reaching downward to a people who are in rebellion against Him.

We don't have to work for grace. Christ has done it all. He not only purchased your forgiveness of sins and your ticket to Heaven, He purchased every blessing, every answer to prayer you will ever receive - everyone of them with NO exceptions. Now isn't that amazing grace?!
